Cost:
50 AED/hour per participant
Description: This is intended for High School, ages 18 and under, boys and girls. The
progression from the camp would involve adding a youth team to the EK Volleyball Club for those that are keen on playing all
year round.

News From the Emirates Airlines Volleyball Club:
The Emirates Airlines Men's Team will participate in the: Universities Sport Tournament,
April 2-4.
Also we will be participating in the 3rd H.B.C. Volleyball Tournament – 2008.
3rd H.B.C. Volleyball Tournament – 2008: Holiday Beach
Club – Ajman.
Details: Registration deadline is March 20. The form can be downloaded at the bottom
of the webpage.
X-League: Dragon Boat Festival
6x6 Volleyball Tournament
Date: April 4 all day,
Start Time: 8:00am registration and Draw, 8:30 games will start.
Location: Festival City, near Al Garhoud, next to the Intercontinental Hotel.
Cost: 250aed per team, Men's and Women's Teams
Description: This will be a single elimination tournament. Included is an entry as an individual
or team to participate in the Dragon Boat Races. There will also be many activities going on throughout the day for everyone
to enjoy a day out in the sun.
Note: Last minute singles or team registration will take place from 8:00-8:30 based on amount of
space left.
Mixed Volleyball League:

8 has finally come and gone. I would like to thank all the players who joined us for the league.
We will have a small gathering at the Mall of the Emirates food court next Monday 17th at around 20:00. We hope to see
all the old and new volleyball players there. See you at the food court!

EK Volleyball Club:

Location: Dubai International Academy.

Cost: 200 AED per person
Description:
This session is intended for those players that would like to play on a team and play in competitive tournaments. You will
be representing the EK Volleyball Club and the teams will be divided by skill level. We will also invite other teams for some
friendly matches. This is open to men and women, age 17 and up.
Beach Volleyball

for the weather to get a bit better and to setup our indoor sessions
Timing: Saturday approx after 14:00
Location: Jumeirah
Beach Park on the left hand side. Look for the Red or Blue volleyball nets.
Note: We will inform everyone when our first
week will be.
Duration: As long as the temperature is alright
Cost: 5 AED to enter the park
Description: We set up
our nets and play 2x2 and 4x4. The focus is to have fun while hanging out with your volleyball friends on the beach.

Activities:
Our EK Volleyball Club has always been run as a non profit/social club. All our members volunteer
their time to keep volleyball alive in Dubai.
My personal goal is to make Dubai a WORLD volleyball hotspot with
more indoor tournaments you can play or watch and beach volleyball nets run along the beach as far as your eyes can see.
OK,
maybe I have been in the sun too long on last year's Beach Volleyball Fridays but believe it or not, we are half way
there. With these new activities, and now in our new relationship with the Basketball Academy of Dubai and Robert and
Reis Sports Management, we can now start to take volleyball to the next several levels.
Mixed Volleyball League:
Timing:
Monday 20:00-22:00
Location: Dubai International Academy
Duration: 8 weeks, Start date: Jan 21, 2008
Cost: 900 AED/per
team, 6 to 9 teams total
Description: The format will require 2 women minimum on the court at all times each game.

A new year means new stuff so we will start to include all the volleyball activities that we can find going on in Dubai
and the UAE.
Now for the first order of business for the year:
We would like to invite everyone for an Open House session at our NEW indoor volleyball facility.
This will take place on Monday 14 Jan, from 20:00-22:00 at the Dubai International Academy School,
located behind the Greens, in Al Barsha.
The website points to our new associate to the club, the Basketball Academy of Dubai.
At the Open House, we will organize some recreational games and give all the information for our upcoming activities
and events.
